Week 2: Hide and Reveal

Our task every week is to produce and illustration based on the word of the week. This week's word is "Hide and Reveal", and the final product would be a monochrome paper cut out, using figure ground, and positive and negative shapes.

On Monday in Mr. Ernesto's class, we were asked to sketch out some ideas and present them to him. We learned the importance of process, and thumbnail sketches (or formats) as a tool for deciding on compositions.

On Thursday, Mr. Hafiz introduced us to the basics of Adobe Illustrator, and got ourselves familiarised with all the tools, and most importantly the pen tool.

At the end of the class, we scanned in our sketches from Monday to vectorize them for our paper cutting templates.
